William C. Loedding, 74, of Midland, died Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Post-Acute Medical at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born May 14, 1948 in Sewickley, he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Cecelia (Surowiec) Loedding. William proudly served in the U.S. Army where he toured overseas in Okinawa and earned a rank of SP5. William was the 1963 Ambridge Soap Box Derby Champion and placed 4th in the 1963 All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio. He also loved bowling, golfing, playing the daily lottery, especially scratch off tickets, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his loving wife in 2018, Marilyn M. Loedding; and sister Kathleen Chiodo.
Surviving is a son, Brian (Erin) Loedding, East Liverpool, Ohio; daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Kalkbrenner, Strongsville, Ohio; four cherished grandchildren, Taylor and Carson Loedding and Jordan and Alexis Kalkbrenner; siblings, Anthony Chiodo, Conway, F. Paul (June) Loedding, Allison Park, Joseph Loedding, Aliquippa, Charlotte (Thomas) Pappas), Ambridge, Barbara (Robert) Gadomaki, FT. Myers, Florida; Rosanna (Bradley) McLean, West View, David Loedding, Baden, and Kenneth (Sunni) Loedding, Harrisburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home Inc., 600 Beaver Avenue, Midland PA 15059. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 20, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Blaise Parish, Midland. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at Beaver Cemetery.
