William Edward Harpold Jr.
Born on November 17, 1944, in Rochester, PA, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy McKinnon Harpold Sr. Bill was an employee of the former H.H. Robertson as a draftsman for 25 years, and continued his career at Michael Baker International, where he retired. Bill was a member of the former H.H. Robertson Bowling League and Thursday Nighters. He also participated at the Parkinson’s exercise group at the Beaver Valley Mall, in-person and online, and where he played pickleball. Bill was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he loved his family outings, traveling to various destinations, volunteering for Habit for Humanity, and going to car cruises with his wife. He also was a talented woodworker, having taken his work to numerous craft shows.
Bill will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 45 years, Celeste Harpold; a son, Sean Harpold, of Harrisburg, PA; a daughter, Denise (Charles) Wurzbach, of Blue Bell, PA; sister, Virginia Bosworth; brothers, Robert (Sandi) Harpold, and Ronald (Debbie) Harpold; grandchildren, Maggie and Elizabeth Wurzbach; sisters and brothers-in-law, Charles and Kathy Kokoski, Christina and Floyd Switzer, and Clarissa Seeger; nieces, Stephanie, Lauren, Lisa, and Jennifer, who shared special memories with their loving uncle; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
As per the families wishes, all services were private.
Interment took place in Beaver Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Concordia Home Health, and Dr. Erin Canale, for their love and compassionate care.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s name, if so desired, to the Parkinson Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, 575 Lincoln Avenue, Bellevue, PA, 15202.
In spite of having Parkinson’s Disease, Bill maintained an easy-going temperament, positive attitude, and never uttered a word of complaint.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
