Sophia Orlovich, 96, of Industry passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born May 5, 1920 in Midland, she was a daughter of the late Mihajlo and Marija Yaich Jermanovich. Upon receiving her master’s degree, Sophia enjoyed a long career as a Registered Nurse, and was a faithful member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Midland.

In addition to her parents, Sophia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Peter Orlovich, Lt. Cdr. (Ret.) November 26, 2006; three brothers, Michael Mazine, and Rodney and Miles Jermanovich; and three sisters, Ann Meriage, Marie Gabor, and Lubia Torbic.

She is survived by numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and many close friends in both Midland and Hudson, FL where she lived during the winter.

Friends will be received Friday, April 7, 2017 from 2 pm until 4 pm and 6 pm until 8 pm in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Ave., Midland where a Pomen blessing service will take place at 7:30 pm. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 12:00 pm in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Midland, followed by interment at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver. Memorial contributions in Sophia’s name may be made, if desired, to the St. George Serbian Church, 30 10th Street, Midland, PA 15059.

You prepared Rocky in such a handsome and peaceful way, prior to that viewing I saw only pain and suffering. It helped remind me of peaceful and happy times. What else can a grateful heart say.

Mark & Alex everything done by you and your staff was outstanding. It was a difficult time for us, but you made everyone feel at ease. You never forgot anything we said or asked for. We are so glad Dad knew where he wanted to go. Once again Father Knows Best!

We thought the work done by Patty on the pictures was tremendous as it brought out the essence of Marian & it was a nice tribute to her. The viewing set up and floral arranging was very nice, we thank you for kindly handling our every request. It was also supportive to know that all the visitors would receive a friendly welcome at the door even long after normal visiting hours. And we only see what’s not “behind the scenes”. It’s obvious these things are well done too. Your help with things beyond the funeral itself is also much appreciated.

It's never easy to lose a loved one but the kind and compassionate service that Mark and his team provided certainly reduced our burden. They were absolutely amazing and we didn't have to worry about a thing. They handled every last detail so that we could spend the time grieving the loss of our father and husband.
