Ruth Edith (Huff) Aeschbacher, 90, of Barclay Hill Road, Beaver, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in the home that she and her late husband built together.

One of twelve children and a feisty redhead, Ruth was born June 13, 1931 at home in Beaner Hollow, Bridgewater, PA. to Ed and Grace (Darragh) Huff. She was a graduate of Beaver Area High School. Ruth’s family was everything to her. Her childhood was filled with family gatherings and fond memories. Once her own family had grown, Wednesday nights became Family Nights where we gathered at the homestead to share a meal and visit. She lived for those times. She was Gram to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they all wanted to spend the night and gather in her big bed for endless bedtime stories.

One of Ruth’s favorite activities was teaching the nursery and kindergarten Sunday School Class at Vanport Presbyterian Church. She was honored for 65 plus years of teaching several generations of Sunday School students. She adored working with children. She also served the church as a Deacon and on many other committees and projects over the years.

Ruth, aka Mrs. A, was co-owner of Infinity Disco and Cue and Cushion Recreation Center, Rochester. She was a second Mom and mentor to local youth over the years.

Along with her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Chris Aeschbacher in 1980; brothers, Chuck, Ed, Jody, Frankie, and Paul Huff; sisters, Mary Kofalt, Jean Nagosky, Frances Mackey, Helen Chapman, and Kathleen Mitchell (her best friend); great-grandson, Chase Aeschbacher; and a special niece who she raised for several years, Annette (Huff) Vose.

She will be deeply missed by her children Kathleen (Ken) Murphy, Chris, aka Bo, Aeschbacher, and William, aka Jody, Aeschbacher; grandchildren, William Shields, Chelsea (Jon) Biskup, Chris, Billi Jo Aeschbacher, Laraine (Dan) Kuriger, Tina (Mike) Fornash, Jodean Tucker, and Cal (CJ) Stiger; great-grandchildren Savannah and Araina Shields, Will Vose, Hunter Stachowiak, Shayne, Kris, and Tasha Knight, and Joshua Alton; as well as 11 great-great-grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by a sister, Donna Cregan, Pittsburgh; and a sister-in-law, Christine (Dick) Umstead; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 12 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. at Vanport Presbyterian Church, Vanport Twp. Interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, Industry, where she will be buried with her husband Chris and great-grandson Chase Avery Aeschbacher. Professional arrangements have been entrusted to the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth’s name to the Vanport Presbyterian Church Mortgage Fund, 289 Georgetown Lane, Beaver, PA 15009.

Testimonials

Thank you so very much for your kind expression of sympathy in our time of sorrow, you were there for us from beginning to end, plus more. You prepared Rocky in such a handsome and peaceful way, prior to that viewing I saw only pain and suffering. It helped remind me of peaceful and happy times. What else can a grateful heart say.

Mark, Alex & Staff Our family is very grateful for the caring and thoughtful way you handled Marian's viewing and service. We thought the work done by Patty on the pictures was tremendous as it brought out the essence of Marian & it was a nice tribute to her. The viewing set up and floral arranging was very nice, we thank you for kindly handling our every request. It was also supportive to know that all the visitors would receive a friendly welcome at the door even long after normal visiting hours. And we only see what’s not “behind the scenes”. It’s obvious these things are well done too. Your help with things beyond the funeral itself is also much appreciated.

It's never easy to lose a loved one but the kind and compassionate service that Mark and his team provided certainly reduced our burden. They were absolutely amazing and we didn't have to worry about a thing. They handled every last detail so that we could spend the time grieving the loss of our father and husband. The help that my mom is still receiving from them is beyond comforting to me and my brother. Words cannot express our deepest thanks and gratitude.
