Ruth’s family was everything to her. Her childhood was filled with family gatherings and fond memories. Once her own family had grown, Wednesday nights became Family Nights where we gathered at the homestead to share a meal and visit. She lived for those times. She was Gram to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they all wanted to spend the night and gather in her big bed for endless bedtime stories. One of Ruth’s favorite activities was teaching the nursery and kindergarten Sunday School Class at Vanport Presbyterian Church. She was honored for 65 plus years of teaching several generations of Sunday School students. She adored working with children. She also served the church as a Deacon and on many other committees and projects over the years. Ruth, aka Mrs. A, was co-owner of Infinity Disco and Cue and Cushion Recreation Center, Rochester.
