Robert D. Monit, D.C., 79, of Beaver, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. Born February 13, 1942 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of Chester and Virginia Monit. Bob was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School and a veteran of the United States Navy. He graduated from Logan University of Chiropractic in Ferguson, MO, and practiced chiropractic care for 43 years in Beaver and Rochester.

Bob was an avid community servant and was involved in many organizations over the years, including Beaver Valley Jaycees, Beaver Rotary and Easter Seal Society. He was a member of Vermont and Jefferson Gospel Group and Beaver Valley Choral Society and was involved for many years with the production of Hosanna! Bob was a past board member of Merrick Art Gallery and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee at West Air Comm Federal Credit Union, as well as a board member at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. Bob was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Rochester and most recently has attended First Presbyterian Church in Beaver.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret “Maggie” (Hicks) Monit, and his children, Scott (Lisa) Monit and Brooke (Bob) Bickerton, all of Beaver. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, the lights of Bob’s life: Zach Monit, Tokyo, Japan, Emily Monit, Atlanta, GA, Sydney Monit, Beaver, and Matthew and Jonathan Bickerton, Beaver.

Bob is also survived by a sister, Karen Kohlmann, and sister-in-law Gail Ackland, both of Beaver Falls, and several nieces and nephews: Sue Ellen and Todd Wagner, Mark and Lisa Kohlmann of Beaver Falls, Jeffrey and Pam Kohlmann, of Darlington, and Stacy McGinnis of West Chester, PA.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Jere Kohlmann and Terry Ackland.

Friends and family will be received Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 2-6 PM in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A celebration of life memorial service will be held Sunday at 1 PM in the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that everyone get vaccinated and wear masks.
