Phyllis Tench Thompson, 96, of Zelienople, formerly a lifelong resident of Beaver, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2021, at Passavant Community, Zelienople.

Born March 18, 1924, in Ford City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Beatrice Denny Tench, and was a faithful member of Park Presbyterian Church, Beaver. Phyllis was a devoted member of the Quota Club and Century Club of Beaver. During World War II she was employed by the propeller division of Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Vanport.  Later, she worked for the Townsend Company in New Brighton.  After raising her children, she worked for the Beaver County Legal Journal for over 20 years. Phyllis was a graduate of Leechburg High School and Robert Morris College, and also attended Geneva College.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arno H. Thompson.

Phyllis is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Thompson, Redondo Beach, CA; a son Edward Denny Thompson, Springfield, MO; loving grandchildren Denise (Josh) Thompson Monson, Rachel Olejar, Michael (Emily Tremblay) Olejar, Alicia (Jon Cannady) Olejar; and a great-grandson, Zephaniah E. Monson.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, all services were private.  Phyllis was laid to rest at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver.  Professional arrangements were handled by the NOLL FUNERAL HOME, 333 THIRD STREET, BEAVER, PA.  Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

Testimonials

Thank you so very much for your kind expression of sympathy in our time of sorrow, you were there for us from beginning to end, plus more. You prepared Rocky in such a handsome and peaceful way, prior to that viewing I saw only pain and suffering. It helped remind me of peaceful and happy times. What else can a grateful heart say.

Thank you for guiding us through the preplanning, Your Patience and understanding as we tried to finalize arrangements was so helpful at such an emotional time. Everyone at Noll's guided us through all the details. We did not have to worry about the schedule or anything, other than to spend time with family and friends as we shared and grieved together. Thank you for removing all the stress and concerns from those days. You have all been a Blessing!!

Mark, Alex & Staff Our family is very grateful for the caring and thoughtful way you handled Marian's viewing and service. We thought the work done by Patty on the pictures was tremendous as it brought out the essence of Marian & it was a nice tribute to her. The viewing set up and floral arranging was very nice, we thank you for kindly handling our every request. It was also supportive to know that all the visitors would receive a friendly welcome at the door even long after normal visiting hours. And we only see what’s not “behind the scenes”. It’s obvious these things are well done too. Your help with things beyond the funeral itself is also much appreciated.
