Born on June 6th, 1934 to the late Harold and Amy Woodeshick, Woody graduated from Monaca High School in 1952, Geneva College in 1956, during which time he was a member of the NAIA bound basketball team. He received his Masters of Education from Westminster College after serving in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany. He was a teacher, guidance counselor and a coach for Big Beaver Falls School District for 35 years.
Woody was an avid golfer and loved frequently stopping at DeAngelis and Oram’s for donuts. He was blessed to gather every Wednesday for breakfast at the Vanport Hot Dog Shoppe with his Geneva buddies. He and Mary enjoyed traveling throughout the world. He was instrumental in organizing Beaver Falls Sports Hall of Fame.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Harold Woodeshick.
Surviving him is his wife of 31 years, Mary Mullin Woodeshick; two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen Woodeshick of Chippewa, and Anne and Joseph Schotsh of Darlington; one sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Donald Ziggas of Industry; one sister-in-law, Marianne Woodeshick of Kingwood, TX; three step-sons and two daughters-in-laws, Guy and Allison Gengarella of Gaithersburg, MD, John and Cyndie Gengarella of San Jose, CA, and David Gengarella of Midland; eight grandchildren, Rebecca and Kathryn Schotsh, Anthony, Lauren, Marissa, Evan, Nicholas and Ethan Gengarella; one great-granddaughter, Annabelle Lee Mahoney; one niece and two nephews.
Friends will be received on Tuesday August 29th, 2017 from 2p-4p and 6p-8p in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Avenue, Midland PA 15059 where a Blessing Service will be conducted by Hierodeacon Joseph on Wednesday August 30, 2017 at 10:30am.
