Julia T. Maloney
Julia was a proud of her Mexican heritage as she was of her family. She was one of the 13 Torres children. Julia was the daughter of Jose and Irene Vitella Torres, and is survived by siblings Louise Torres, Cecelia “Cookie” Torres, Eleanor “Tootsie” (Stanley) Olash, Jessie “Chewy” (Patty) Torres, and preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Ernest “Tony” (Marie), Roselia “Chio”, Jose (Juanita), Gregoria Henry “Hank/Ronny” (Loretta), Richard “Tito”, Irene Trevino (Arthur), Andrea “Lala”, and Sara Mireles (Frank).
She is also preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, James F. Maloney Jr in 2012.
Julia enjoyed family gatherings where she hosted large parties at her home where a pinata for the children to scramble for candies was always fun, along with overflowing tables of Mexican favorites. She adored her family and with the help of her husband and siblings entered several Fourth of July Floats in the Midland parade. During Christmas gatherings, she would lead the entire family in “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, and everyone would have to sing no matter what. Everyone laughed and had a good time.
Interment will follow at Beaver Cemetery.
