Harry D. Swaney, 93, of Friendswood, Texas, formerly of Industry and Beaver, passed away Thursday October 13, 2016 in his home.

Born October 23, 1922 in Midland, Harry was the son of the late Harry W. Swaney and Bessie Tempest Swaney Westfall of Midland.

Harry spent his career working in Operations and Maintenance for Crucible Steel, Midland, retiring in 1982. He also worked for the Industry Borough Municipal Water Authority. A proud WWII veteran serving in the USMC in the Pacific Theater, Harry was a member of Glasgow Lodge No. 485 F&AM as well as the VFW Lodge of Midland. He was Methodist by faith.

Surviving Harry is his wife of 65 years, Mary Swaney, Friendswood, TX; one son, Dan Swaney, Friendswood, TX; two grandsons, Jacob Swaney, Lubbock, TX , and Nicholas Swaney, Friendswood, TX, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Sunday October 16, 2016 from 4-8 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver. Additional visitation will be held Monday at 10 am until time of service at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Beaver Cemetery. Mark & Alex everything done by you and your staff was outstanding. It was a difficult time for us, but you made everyone feel at ease. You never forgot anything we said or asked for. We are so glad Dad knew where he wanted to go. Once again Father Knows Best!

We thought the work done by Patty on the pictures was tremendous as it brought out the essence of Marian & it was a nice tribute to her. The viewing set up and floral arranging was very nice, we thank you for kindly handling our every request. It was also supportive to know that all the visitors would receive a friendly welcome at the door even long after normal visiting hours. And we only see what’s not “behind the scenes”. It’s obvious these things are well done too. Your help with things beyond the funeral itself is also much appreciated.
