I was saddened to hear that President Hill had passed... he was a great leader of the I.B.E.W. and representative of all working men and women. He was greatly respected as a principled senior statesman amoung the Building Trades General Presidents. My memories include conversations with Ed and his long time friend Mark Ayers. President Hill’s contribution to the advancement of worker interests extended well beyond his own organization and we all benefited greatly from his efforts throughout United States and Canada. His legacy of strong leadership will continue to benefit organized labor long into the future. To President Hill’s family and friends I offer my sincere condolences. May He Rest In Peace. Sean O’Ryan Retired, Senior Administrative Assistant to the United Association General President
I was saddened and disheartened to learn of Ed's sudden sickness and untimely death. I met him over 35 years ago and always knew him to be a man to respect and admire. He was kind, friendly, helpful and a true gentleman. We had nice talks in my office and his philanthropy always impressed me. After his retirement from his duties with IBEW International, I was pleased to see him return to Beaver to live. He and his wife built a beautiful new home, and I saw him often in church, where we would exchange greetings from several aisles away during the offering of the sign of peace. I will miss him, as one misses a man of his stature and legacy, and as someone I always admired. My heart and sympathy goes out to his wife, Rosemary, and to all of his family. Great men like Ed always leave a huge void when they pass, but they also leave behind cherished memories and impressive legacies. RIP, Ed. You were a true and gentle man..........
On behalf of the Officers, members and staff of IBEW Local 37, as well as my wife Krista and I, please accept my deepest condolences. President Hill was a person of vision, and a man that set the highest standards for himself, and for the IBEW - he made us all better by the strength of his character. I am so grateful to have spent time with him, and to see how deeply he cared about the IBEW, and also for his family, his community, and for anyone going through a hard time. He epitomized the best that we are, and I know his legacy will live on in the IBEW, and also in organizations like Electrical Workers beyond Borders, which my Local and my family are making donations to in President Hill's memory. To Rosemary, and all of Ed's family and loved ones, please know that Krista and I are sending you our love, and we have you all in our prayers. If there is anything we can do at all, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Ross Galbraith, Business Manager IBEW 37, 8th District IEC member

Please know Amanda and I are sending you our love and prayers. We both owe him so much and wouldn't be where we are without him. I've been receiving many messages about him and one that particularly resonated was - He was a good and decent man. Indeed he was. He always expressed his appreciation for my work, and I'll always be honored by the trust he had in me. Please let us know if you need anything. With love, Sherilyn and Amanda
