Obituaries » Anthony Barney September 16, 1932 - February 13, 2021 Anthony “Skinny” Barney, 88 of East Liverpool, Ohio passed away on February 13, 2021 at Harmony Haus, Ambridge, following a lengthy illness. Born September 16th, 1932, he was the son of the late Peter and Albenia Marchegiano Barney. Skinny was an Army veteran and had served during the Korean War. He retired from Crucible Steel, Colt Industries, Midland as a crane man, then worked in the maintenance department of Seven Oaks Country Club, Ohioville. Skinny is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Deloris Barney; loving daughters, Cynthia Barney of East Liverpool, Ohio and Susan Packard of Hopewell Township; grandchildren Christopher Barney, Paul Barney, Eric White, Jovania White, Matthew (Caroline) Packard, Adam (Jackie) Packard, Drew (Crystal) Packard and seventeen great-grandchildren; very special nieces Barbara Barney and Renee Burks, special nephew Michael Barney and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary Barney, seven brothers: Dominic “Harpo” Marchegiano, Robert “Bobby” Marchegiano, Emidio “Slats” Marchegiano, John Marchegiano, Enrico “Rico” Barney, Joseph Barney, Peter Barney, four sisters: Susan Brown, Anita Fry, Loretta Cook, Rose Pizzuti; son-in-law William Packard and niece Rose Presutti. He was a member of St. Blaise Parish, Midland and Knights of Columbus, Midland where he cooked and served walleye fish fry for the members. Skinny loved the outdoors, especially gardening, hunting and fishing. Skinny and Deloris spent their retirement summers at their fishing camp in Cortland, Ohio. They both loved to fish and also enjoyed bowling. Skinny loved spending time with his family, especially the annual reunions held at the family’s cabin in Punxsutawney, and taking his grandchildren fishing. A celebration of Skinny’s life, where we can share our favorite memories and stories, will be held at a later date when the current health environment improves. Friends will be received Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 in the SCHWERHA-NOLL FUNERAL HOME, 600 BEAVER AVE., MIDLAND.
